SPEATBC will be awarding five scholarships of $1000 each this year:

SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORIES:
1) ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP – a high school student (grade 12) or recent graduate (within 2 years) planning on pursuing post-secondary studies upon graduation in an engineering or technology related field of study at a recognized university, college, or technical school in BC.
2) POST SECONDARY SCHOLARSHIP – a post-secondary student enrolled in an engineering or technology related field of study at a recognized university, college, or technical school in BC.
3) WOMAN IN ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP – a woman student enrolled in an engineering or technology related field of study at a recognized university, college, or technical school in BC.
4) NEW IMMIGRANT SCHOLARSHIP – a new immigrant (max. of 2 years since arrival in Canada) pursuing post-secondary studies in an engineering or technology related field of study at a recognized university, college, or technical school in BC.
5) INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP – an international student studying in Canada with a valid Student Visa enrolled in or pursuing an engineering or technology related field of study at a recognized university, college, or technical school in BC.

Scholarship certificates will be awarded at the SPEATBC’s Annual Dinner event. Scholarship funds will be provided at SPEATBC’s Technical Seminar during the fall month of October after proof of enrollment is provided and the minimum volunteer work is achieved.
When: Saturday, 27th January, 2018. Doors open at 6pm.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Recipients for the Awards will be determined by:
Academic Achievement
• Involvement in extra-curricular activities (especially involvement in either activities related to the engineering profession, or activities within the Indo-Canadian community)
Needs basis as demonstrated by details in the application form
